Name: Vincenzo Feleti Ianniello
Meaning:
vincenzo - victor
feleti - peace
ianniello - variation on gianni, gift of god
Nickname: Cenzo. Do not attempt to call him anything else, please.
Age: 25
Birthdate: June 16
Astrological Sign: Gemini sun, Leo moon, Gemini rising
Blood Type: O
Paolo Ilario Ianniello, Sr. (father - 58 yrs): If a man ever grew old gracefully and continued to
look better as the years passed by, that man might be Paolo Ianniello. A successful businessman with
the proverbial heart of gold, Paolo looks out for every single one of his employees. New baby? Expect
a bonus and a week's worth of dinners brought to the house. Health problems? He'll send his own
physician over to the house if you can't get to the doctor's office in a timely fashion. He's wealthy
by both his own hand and by the money that the Ianniello family has made in past generations, but
Paolo is one of those who feels that it's his job to take care of the people who work for him, so
that they'll in turn take care of the dealership. This attitude has earned him the nickname of "Papa
Ianniello" from the mechanics and salespeople, and he couldn't be happier with it. True, he'll
introduce himself professionally as Paolo Ianniello, general manager and owner of the Rome Maserati
dealership, but to everyone else... he's Papa Ianniello.
Paolo stands at 6'2", with rich black hair streaked gray and laughing dark brown eyes. His complexion
might be likened to that of a medium latte, and his solid frame is fit from the long walks that he
takes every day during lunch and constant attention to his diet. Having a heart attack at age 35 made
him seriously re-evaluate both his appetite and lifestyle, so he watches what he eats, walks two
miles to get lunch at his favorite sidewalk cafe, and goes to Mass every morning before work to give
thanks for another day with his family and his business. He loves both of his sons very much, but his
dream of seeing the family business stay in the family is fading fast. He'd love to pin that hope
upon Vincenzo, but he's more than happy to settle doing that through a marriage to Elena Healy. He'd
have a secure future for the dealership as well as the promise of grandchildren, all in one package.
Viviana Ianniello (mother - 50 yrs): Viviana married the already successful Paolo when she discovered
that she was pregnant with his first son. Luckily for the both of them, they were hopelessly in love
with each other and have managed to remain that way for over thirty years. A petite woman with
closely cropped black hair and hazel-brown eyes, Vivi dotes upon the Ianniello men in her life. She
grew up in her family's business, working as a secretary for a local wine distributor and met Paolo
during one of the many social functions held back in the day. Content to stay at home, keep house,
and raise her two little boys, Vivi grew lonely once Vincenzo decided to find his own place and head
off to school. She spends a few hours during the week as a receptionist at the dealership, a 'mother-
hen' type to all of the young men and women who start out there. Vivi is an accomplished hostess and
looks for every opportunity to throw parties for her husband's employees, with Christmas being her
absolute favorite time of the year.
Viviana mothers Cenzo incessantly, always telling him to come over for dinner or stop by on a Sunday
morning to come to Mass with the family. She sends a monthly stipend to his bank account, mostly
because she wants him to not worry about paying bills while he studies. Like Paolo, Vivi would like
nothing better than to see her baby boy settle down with Elena and get some grandchildren to play
with. She might nag, but it's only because she thinks such stability would make Vincenzo happy.
Paolo Ilario Ianniello, Jr. (brother - 31 yrs): Paolo Jr., called Ilario to keep the confusion in the
household to a minimum, is a young Franciscan priest who divides his time between a few parishes
outside of Rome. His mother and father staunchly refused to allow him to enter the seminary until he
completed college, so Ilario went through a pre-med routine at the University of Italy before
entering the seminary. Soft-spoken, he towers over his mother and stands a few inches taller than his
father. Big hands, big feet, and round dark eyes give him the semblance of a Great Dane puppy,
sometimes lacking in coordination but never meaning any harm. He's not always in approval of the way
his younger brother acts, but Ilario's never been one to condemn. He was rather close to Vincenzo
when they were younger, but his entry into the seminary came as somewhat of a shock to the rest of
the family. While his parents have accepted and welcomed his vocation, his brother hasn't been so
open-minded.
Vincenzo is rather gifted with argument and debate, quick-witted and able to think on his feet. He has a knack for remembering obscure facts and details when it comes to current events. He's actually a pretty decent photographer, when he concentrates and finds a subject he likes. Vincenzo also has an impeccable sense of style, which probably only comes in handy when he's out shopping.
Aerial extreme sports: There's something thrilling about being airborne and risking your neck for an
adrenaline rush that Vincenzo adores. First it was hanggliding, then it was bungee jumping, then
skydiving... and now, it's parasailing. Vincenzo craves the excitement and danger that such pastimes
offer, thriving off of the high that comes with surviving such crazy stunts.
Debate: Give him a few facts and an opening statement, and Vincenzo will have a field day. He enjoys
a good healthy argument, be it political or social, and shines in the arena of public speaking.
Sadly, he doesn't have any aspirations to put such a thing to use. Paolo thinks he'd be the ideal
salesman with such ability... but Cenzo is clearly not interested.
Modeling: It's constant admiration. It's a time when all eyes are on him, and it bolsters his ego on
days spent in a classroom or evenings spent listening to his mother try to convince him that settling
down and raising a family would be good for him. Modeling... well, he doesn't have to think about
anything. He shows up, strips, poses, and wham! instant gratification.
Other likes: his car, shopping for clothes, a well-made charcoal grey suit, opera, cliff diving,
being complimented, Elena Healy, spending a weekend morning at the gym, having dinner at home with
his parents (although it's not something he'll immediately admit), winking at people who stare at
him, snooping about Elena's apartment for knick-knacks and artsy things that would look better in his
flat.
Getting dirty: Yes, it might seem out of place with the whole extreme sports fascination. Still,
that's when one is supposed to get dirty/sweaty/muddy/wet and Vincenzo is always wearing the 'right'
clothes for such activities. In day to day activities, he abhors getting mud on his shoes or spilling
something on his shirt. He's not one to pull something out of the clothes hamper to wear again. All
clothing must be clean and spotless. In addition, he's fanatic about showering, hair-washing, teeth-
brushing, and other daily hygiene things.
Sitting still: Specifically, sitting still when it doesn't involve someone taking pictures of him.
Vincenzo is one of those people who must be in constant motion, doing something. Waiting for a date
or an acquaintance is absolutely maddening if he has nothing to do but stare at the walls, and he
will keep up a playful yet steady stream of complaints until action resumes.
Criticism: He doesn't take being told that he's wrong very well. As far as he is concerned, he is
flawless in his reasoning, and he has quite the group of admirers courtesy of his photo spreads, so
he must be perfect in appearance. The only person who can get away with telling him that he's wrong
and have such things taken seriously is his mother. Anyone else gets a scowl and a sniff, followed by
an argument as to why such criticism is unfounded.
Other dislikes: getting up early, beer, leaving messages on voicemail, sitting through Mass, waiting
on salespeople, traffic, rainy days, cold weather, and listening to his parents tell him that he
needs to settle down and get married and do something with his life.
Extreme sports (parasailing is his current favorite), debate, collecting fine art, and photography.
He's not quite sure what he wants to do, honestly. Vincenzo takes for granted that he'll somehow be assimilated into the family business if nothing else works out. He's not so delusional as to think that he could model forever, and he knows that he couldn't support his current lifestyle on photography alone. Going to school serves as an intellectual stimulus as well as a social excuse to meet people, but it's not fueling any greater plan. If anyone asked him, he'd conjure up the same little speech about searching, education, and not being the same man that his father is. What a convenient and eloquent excuse.
School/Occupation: Part-time political science student at John Cabot in Rome. Part-time male model.
Sometimes photographer. Full-time rich kid.
Favorite Food: Chicken marsala... and raspberry jam cookies. It's a guilty pleasure.
Hated Food: He's not fond of overly spicy foods. Mexican or really strong Cajun food would not appeal
to him.
Favorite Subject: debate, languages, and that photography class he took to kill time that one semester
Hated Subject: none
Color: daffodil yellow (#FFFF33)
Gemstone: Alexandrite
Hair: The color of dark rich espresso, Vincenzo's hair is one of his best features. It has caramel
highlights that sneak in when he spends time out in the sun. Silky to the touch and of medium weight,
it is kept at cheekbone length in front and curls to the nape of his neck at the back. Most days,
it's tamed with a bit of styling gel into soft waves that frame his face.
Eyes: They're his dad's, no doubt about it. A rich brown that catches the light from every angle,
Vincenzo's eyes show mischief, delight, and playfulness. Sexy eyebrows that quirk up at the ends
allow for even more expression, and dark lashes might make one swear that Cenzo uses mascara.
Face: High cheekbones and a pointed chin provide an slightly elfin look to this young man. His nose
slopes gracefully, a good-natured sort of snub softening the angles to his face. He's done the goatee
and mustache thing in the past, but the overall scruffy, "No, I haven't shaved since yesterday,"
looks suits him rather nicely. Skin is lighter than his father's, the color of a milky latte. This
tone does darken in the sunlight, producing a striking effect. Lips are classic cupid's bow... yes,
the boy has a purty mouth. And he knows it.
Build: 6'0", Vincenzo once again takes after his father and brother in this department. He owes his
appearance to daily workouts at the gym. He has what one might call a swimmer's physique, with broad
shoulders and chest tapering down to a slimmer waist. A long scar extends along the inside of his
left thigh, the product of an accident involving a badly-prepped bungee cord. It is little more than
a shadow, but noticeable to someone actively searching for flaws on Vincenzo's body. Photo shoots
require makeup or a bit of post-production airbrush work to get rid of it.
Vincenzo dresses in the latest styles and fashions, often looking as if he'd stepped from the pages
of GQ or an Abercrombie and Fitch catalog. He spends money on good clothes simply because he wants to
look good. It's as easy as that. You will rarely find him in anything ratty or torn; such clothes are
either repaired or tossed in the trash. Even the clothing he wears for his sport outings are
carefully chosen and replaced at the first sight of too much dirt or the smallest tear.
Stylish, quick-witted, and possessing more than his fair share of charm, Vincenzo Ianniello makes himself out to be the perfect balance of playboy and student. Among the faculty of the political science department at John Cabot University, Cenzo is known to be a tenacious student, ever ready for a debate and always ready to talk circles about his classmates. The wealthy intellectuals of the University know Cenzo as friendly and outgoing daredevil of sorts, the one who waltzes into exams after a morning of skydiving or parasailing. Among these acquaintances, Cenzo is a cosmopolitan young man, able to wax philosophic on a variety of current events and eclectic tidbits gleaned from the morning paper. Such conversation is lighthearted and casual, commonly delivered with a smooth confidence and the tendency to exaggerate the 'good' parts of a story or adventure. He is rarely harsh, meeting contradiction with cool debate and drawing childish delight in talking opponents into the proverbial corner. One meeting Vincenzo for the first time in such a setting would probably discover a learned and charming young man who balances scholarly arrogance and a smattering of vanity with a razor-sharp wit and a lopsided smile.
There is another side to Vincenzo, one that plays down his intelligence and plays up his indulgent nature and need to be admired. As a part-time model and sometimes photographer for homosexual erotica publications, Cenzo is keenly aware of his good looks and the effect they have on people. Entering the Rome underground of modeling exclusively for the pleasure of those desiring what some term an alternative lifestyle has allowed Vincenzo to do something that many people still see as wicked and forbidden. True, it pays exceptionally well, and he's found the admiration and adventure he craves, but it's... empty, as of late. There's no emotional commitment involved, so such endeavors and related late-night escapades are merely games and intricate pleasure-seeking adventures. Satisfaction is fleeting, but the risk of being caught combined with the complete attention of a second party is temptation enough for Cenzo.
His family sees a toned-down version of the university persona. Polite and charming with conversation skills to entertain any family guest, he plays the part of beloved son to a tee. He really -is- a good boy, if you step back and take a look. He loves his mother. He tried to follow in his father's footsteps, but he doesn't have the affinity for cars or business (even though he has the looks and the smooth talking skills required to be a salesman). He treats everyone with a basic sort of respect, and doesn't look to hurt anyone directly. He might have been spoiled, but Viviana wasn't about to let him grow up to be a wealthy "I can do whatever I want to people and not feel the consequences" brat like other rich peoples' children. Suffice to say, Cenzo doesn't care much for those who use their wealth and position to harm people, and he'd never outwardly act on an impulse just to cause someone pain.
Growing up in the lap of luxury has led Cenzo to mimic the same opulent lifestyle away from his parents' home. With his 'modeling' to supplement the monthly allowance that his mother has wired to his account, he's able to furnish his studio apartment with leather furniture, exquisite rosewood pieces, and eclectic artwork. He has a maid come once a week, sends laundry out every Monday and Thursday, and doesn't do any of his own cooking. Poor guy couldn't sew a button on his shirt to save his life.
Vincenzo's interests are varied, to say the least. Sports cars, skydiving, fine art, current events, opera, theatre, photography, spy novels... and the list goes on and on, changing daily depending upon the trends of society and how expensive the pastime. An outing with Vincenzo might involve parasailing or an evening of opera and fine dining, with the price of the evening directly proportional to how badly he wants to impress someone.
Skilled at communication, Cenzo has the profound ability to say what's on his mind in a rather tactful and eloquent manner. He's not one for introspection; often, he doesn't understand his own motivation for doing something any further than a base want or need.. Some might accuse him of being superficial, and on many levels, he is. At the same time, he goes after what he wants with a passion that isn't evident at first glance. Met with a souring situation, Cenzo can become arrogant and brooding, seeking new adventures for distraction. He argues with a certain degree of showmanship, eloquence and sarcasm melding to produce a dazzling yet scathing display.
Cenzo's modeling career has led him to cultivate a sexually ambiguous nature. Once comfortable with fleeting relationships and different women every night, he has broadened his horizons to include other models in his field as well as their admirers. Keeping Elena with him when he goes out on the town allows him to conceal his 'secret profession' from parents and scholarly acquaintances.
Speaking of Elena... it's important to note that many of Cenzo's problems with his family didn't occur until she arrived in Modena for the Maserati conference. Since Elena managed to win over Vincenzo's father, Paolo has pinned the success of his dealership on her... through Cenzo. That's right... Papa Ianniello would like nothing better than to have Elena as a daughter in law to take over the dealership when he decides to retire. You can trust that Paolo's told his son this more than once, as he knows too well that Vincenzo has neither the know-how nor the interest to take over the dealership. Cenzo lost his favored status to Elena through no fault of his own, yet he's a bit jealous and bears a tiny amount of resentment towards her that he chooses to keep to himself.
Still, Papa's idea isn't a bad one. Cenzo was definitely attracted to her when they first met one night over dinner. The attempts to get closer to her and make his companionship indispensable caused her to become suspicious, so he fell back on the excuse of closet homosexual attempting to maintain a 'acceptable' lifestyle so as not to lose the favor of his parents. Taking advantage of Elena's good nature only makes Cenzo feel slightly guilty... if she wasn't so damn nice, it'd make it easier. He'll let the guise slip at a convenient time, though. He's fairly confident that she won't be 'taken' any time soon, considering the way she is about her work.
So, you've got a rich kid who could make it on his own in a slightly questionable profession, but instead chooses to remain in the good graces of his parents while he goes to school to keep them happy. A bit arrogant, certainly intelligent, and relatively resourceful, Vincenzo Ianniello is not without his flaws... but if you ask him, they're nothing compared to the rest of him.
Having already given birth to one little boy, Vivi wasn't too terribly surprised by the process that brought Vincenzo into the world. Adored by his older brother from the day he was born, Vincenzo was never without attention. Ilario would play with him, beg to help his mother bathe him, and proudly pushed the carriage when out walking with his mother. So, you could say that Vincenzo has had admirers from the day he was born.
Little boys living in the lap of luxury wind up doing things that little boys living in middle-class homes never get to do. Summer vacations were spent in the Mediterranean on islands, Christmas vacations in a chalet in the Alps, and weekend getaways to a little house outside of Modena in the countryside. Vincenzo also attended Mass on Sundays, made to sing in a children's choir by his mother so that he and Ilario could do something together. He could carry a tune well enough, but the poor old nun who led the choir soon sent the child home with a note explaining that he had a sweet enough voice, but that his fidgeting and constant chatter were not meant for choir practice. A bit annoyed, Vivi gave her son a firm talking-to and set out to find something else to occupy his time. A flurry of activity ensued in the form of after-school sports, football taking precedence over everything else. The combination of athletic ability (the kid wasn't all that bad, looking back) and inherent good looks earned him the admiration of countless classmates throughout his time at school. Being intelligent and witty didn't hurt, and Cenzo's teenage years were filled with social outings and flirtatious encounters of the innocent and not-so-innocent sort. His father gave him a car on his seventeenth birthday, a bright yellow Maserati Spyder GT that Cenzo could use to impress the ladies as well as use to get around Italy. Even though Vincenzo wasn't the least bit mechanically inclined, he took care of the car from Day One, keeping it spotless and always up to date on visits to the mechanic.
When it came time to continue on at a university of his choice, Vincenzo managed to convince his parents that a year or two off would be preferable to hitting the books immediately. So began a fantastic couple of years that allowed Vincenzo to sample the social scene, indulging in high-bred pastimes like theatre, opera, and art galleries during the day and dabbling in the darker side of Rome's night life when the sun went down. Through an acquaintance of his father's, Vincenzo discovered the thrill of hanggliding, followed soon by bungee jumping. Soon, every weekend was spent on some potentially deadly activity that made the adrenaline rush through his veins and provide him with a high that no illegal substance sampled in a club could ever equal.
The club scene led Vincenzo to modeling halfway through his second year off from his studies. Told that he had what it took to be in magazines as a model, Vincenzo met a photographer at an opulent studio apartment for a sample photo shoot. Stripped to nothing but silk boxer shorts, Cenzo pouted for the camera while a handful of young men looked on in clear physical appreciation. Ego sufficiently stroked by such attention, Vincenzo returned the next week, this time clad only in a small wet towel. Paid by the hour and paid well, the handsome young man realized the adventure that could be had in such an environment. Soon, he was spending nights with other handsome models who wanted nothing more than to say that they'd 'experienced' Cenzo. Knowing that he was something of a bragging right fueled his participation in such things, Vincenzo developing a sort of arrogance when it came to appearance and... sexual performance.
When his father pointed out that Vincenzo would have to begin classes, he merely shrugged it off and enrolled part-time in a political science program, telling his father that it would be the perfect preparatory curriculum for a law degree later on. Parents satiated, Vincenzo could continue his dual lifestyle and not be bothered by such silly things as too much work.
It should be noted that Vincenzo met Elena Healy through his father, who brought her and her uncle over for dinner during the week of an international conference. Attracted to her, Vincenzo found Elena to be someone who could certainly be worth time and trouble. He attempted to get closer to her under the guise of a personal valet, but she finally called him on his actions and wanted to know what was going on. Falling back on his alternate persona, Vincenzo told Elena that his interest in her was purely platonic, and that anything more was a show for his parents to keep them from knowing that he was gay. The half-truth worked, allowing Vincenzo to remain close to Elena and maintain certain aspects of his social life without having to explain too much to her.
So now, he goes to school a few times a week, models under the guise of 'studying,' and is somewhat of a fixture on the John Cabot social scene. Not a bad lifestyle, to be sure... but certainly not one that can last.
Senshi: Narcissus, Graikos/Divinitas Senshi of Vanity
Tight white leather. Seriously.
Narcissus' outfit is comprised of skintight white leather boot-cut pants that hang on his hips, complimented by a brilliant daffodil yellow belt and a matching tight daffodil yellow mesh sleeveless tank shirt. Shoes are mid-calf high white leather combat boots that lace up and are mostly hidden by the pants. Fingerless gloves of the skater type in the same daffodil yellow are worn. A white strip of leather ties over Narcissus' forehead in a sort of headband, and a gold mariner's link style of chain is worn about his neck. Hair is in oh-so-sexy gelled waves, and his skin appears to be covered in a glittery gold powder, so that he... sparkles.
Yes, he looks like a Solid Gold extra.
Narcissus uses a ladies' makeup compact mirror to transform. He flips open the compact and looks at his reflection, calling out, "Narcissus Divinitas Power, Make Up!" before tapping the glass once. The mirror shatters, light erupting from the broken pieces. This white-gold light traces the outline of Narcissus over Vincenzo's form, the Senshi likeness two inches in front of the regular form. Once the "tracing" is complete, it swiftly changes to match Vincenzo while Vincenzo similarly changes with Narcissus, the change likened to a fireworks sparkler burning down at a rather quick pace. Change complete, the figure that resembles Vincenzo breaks apart, zooming back to reform the mirror in the compact. He snaps the compact shut, tucks it into the front right pocket of his pants, and then crosses his arms across his chest. The henshin is complete with him tossing his head once, saying, "Narcissus Kamen. How're -you- doing?"
Compliment
Description: It's rather simple... Narcissus pays his target a compliment. "That's a nice shirt," or
"You have beautiful eyes," or something along those lines is said, with Narcissus requiring eye
contact with the target.
Effect: The person to whom the compliment is paid suddenly becomes obsessed with that compliment,
often dwelling on it in some sort of preening fashion. This can last anywhere from 30 seconds to 90
seconds, depending upon the target's mental state and Narcissus' physical state. It gets rather silly
when you're in the middle of a battle and suddenly your teammate is fawning over his tunic because
Narcissus mentioned that it was a nice color of grey.
Power Usage and Restrictions: To start off, Narcissus has to sound sincere when he pays the
compliment. That could be rather hard to do while in battle. Secondly, he can only pay three
compliments to one person within the space of an hour. Any more, and there's no power to say that the
target must believe what he's saying. If they do, well... no harm, no foul. Finally, the target must
understand what Narcissus is saying, either by hearing it, reading lips, or even understanding hand
gestures. If he can get the point across, then it can work.
Self-Obsession
Description: Narcissus pulls his compact out, choosing a target and aiming the mirror at him/her.
Calling out, "Self-Obsession," in a loud clear voice, he thrusts the mirror forward, a rush of
daffodil-tinged light surging towards the chosen target.
Effect: Once the light hits the target, he/she is consumed with the thought of only self-
preservation. This attack dissolves team loyalty, replacing any such camaraderie with a "me first"
attitude that lasts for a maximum of ninety seconds.
Power Usage and Restrictions: Targets must be within a range of twenty feet to be hit with the
attack. This can only be cast once every minute, with a maximum casting of five times in a half hour.
If he tries any more, nothing will happen. Finally, the light can be blocked by non-magical defense
as well as elements; however, if it happens to hit something crystalline, it can be reflected back
upon teammates or opponents.
