Name: Mitsukai Tenmouno
Meaning: Heaven's Angel of Vengeance
Goes by: Mitsu, Momma (to Aneiko), and there are those who
insist upon 'Sensei' even in her military role.
Nicknames: Mitsu is good enough. "Mitzie" is grounds for a spanked bottom, but it has sadly
become a necessary alias in the 21st century.
Sex: Female
Age: 26
Birthday: October 26th
Astrological Sign: Scorpio sun, Capricorn moon, Aries rising.
Family Members: She is estranged from her mother and father;
her only family is her six year old daughter, Aneiko.
Hobbies: Mitsu's hobbies are few and far between. She enjoys baking, especially for large groups of people. It wouldn't be unlikely for the rest of the Boarding House to wake to the smell of blueberry muffins or coffee cake one morning, only to find Mitsu in her workout clothing buzzing about the kitchen. She enjoys reading military novels and military nonfiction, although it's far more likely one would find her reading fairy tales to Aneiko in her spare time.
Friends/Acquaintances: Besides her daughter, Mitsu has a close sisterly relationship with Sa'dia, the young Isbanni teenager who accompanied her to the Boarding House. She was an instructor at the training academy in the Moon Kingdom, so it's highly probable that she would recognize some of her former students if they were assigned to this mission.
Build: At 5'7" and 160 lbs, Mitsu possesses a figure that one might see as soft at first glance. Admittedly, the 36D chest isn't exactly conducive to the svelte Senshi physique that others have honed. Her definitively hourglass figure showcases hips that she will ruefully describe as "childbearing," even though they adequately balance out her bust. She isn't overly toned, but the muscle is evident in her deltoids and calves.
Skin: Light caramel or honey would be an adequate description of her complexion. She's apt to do some amount of sun worshipping, but nothing that would produce a much deeper tone. She bears a tattoo of an angel on her right shoulder blade; the inch and a half figure has black hair and golden wings, white robes whipping about as she stands at the ready with a golden sword.
Face: Mitsu has a fairly round face, with a chin that comes to a point. Her nose is a bit turned up, and her lips are full. Makeup? Not if she can help it.
Eyes: Caribbean blue, they sparkle when she smiles.or so someone told her once. Her eyes are a glistening azure, with heavy black lashes and elegantly arched eyebrows. They are by far her best feature, and may be hidden behind a pair of dark cat-eye sunglasses when outside.
Hair: Mitsu's hair is of medium weight, neither thick nor thin. Naturally black, her hair is often streaked with cranberry or some other vibrant shade of red. It hangs in bluntly chopped layers about an inch past her shoulders, with pieces grazing her chin to frame her face. She rarely wears it down, and anything can make a suitable hair accessory. Pens, pencils, chopsticks. almost anything's fair game.
General Appearance: At first glance, Mitsu appears incredibly casual. Denim and cotton, it's all about comfort. Early in the morning or late at night, it wouldn't be uncommon to see her around the Boarding House in a sleeveless shirt and flannel boxers. She could dress up if she wanted to. but why bother? Shorts or jeans, with any variety of sleeveless tops, are her usual choice of day to day clothing. Any kind of training is done is a white sports bra and baggy cotton pants. Shoes. well, hiking boots or sandals, take your pick. She has a cherished pair of combat boots for special occasions. she'll pair them with a black leather skirt to "dress up." Jewelry is minimal. a single pair of gold hoops, and a gold navel piercing.
Cautious ambition would describe Mitsu's mode of operation to a tee. She possesses a great deal of endurance and determination, both physically and mentally. While a bit of a control freak, she carries out every action for the good of the team, paying little regard to the popularity of her decisions. Her abilities as a strategist have been recognized by her military superiors in the past, playing a deciding role in her assignment on this mission.
Mitsu does have a bit of a stubborn streak, especially when it comes to challenging long-standing protocols or tactics. She isn't one to do something simply because "we've always done it this way;" rather, she prefers proven processes and tactics. To get her to change her mind, one must convince Mitsu of the new method with hard evidence and precise details. Argue convincingly, and it's likely she'll accept the idea proposed. She simply desires proof, that's all.
On most days, Mitsu is easygoing and fairly laid back. She expects adults to behave as such, and she forgives mistakes (though not the mindless kind. those tend to really annoy her). Anything that threatens the mission or the well-being of another team member is another story. She has no problem keeping people back for the safety of the team. Mitsu will most likely take a "big sister" attitude with most of the Senshi under her command, as she seeks to establish trust first and foremost. She enjoys listening to people and offers sympathy when appropriate, and doesn't hold back if she feels that the person needs a swift kick into reality. She does her best to keep her own emotions under control, since they can go to extremes at possibly inappropriate times.
When might she lose control? Well... she tends to get edgy if she doesn't get any kind of physical exercise. A stickler for routine, she prefers to train in the early morning before breakfast. Missing two or more days tends to throw her off of her schedule, which makes her cranky. She might forget that oh-so-necessary leadership tact and simply snap at someone. but she'll apologize soon after. If she's feeling low or moody, she'll give people fair warning that she might not be a pleasant person to be around, and she'll retreat to the training room or the bathtub to collect her thoughts. Also, if people make rash decisions that endanger other members, she will revert to the underlying hard-ass military instructor she once was in a heartbeat. While this might not necessarily constitute "losing control," she often feels afterwards that the situation could have been handled a little more coolly.
Finally, Mitsu's greatest fear/concern is abandonment. She will never ever knowingly leave someone behind, and she makes it a point to keep team members in small groups. This also explains her family-oriented attitude towards the Senshi at the Boarding House. She will keep them together. no matter what.
Mitsukai, who are you? Me? Heh, that's pretty easy. Mitsukai Tenmouno, former field commander, Senshi instructor, blueberry muffin maker extraordinaire, and a pretty decent mother... most days. I'm currently in charge of the Boarding House, leading a critical mission relating to the Battle at the Portal and the Kuraijin. If you didn't have to see it... well, you were one of the lucky ones. No one should ever have to witness something like that in their lifetime... but most of us did. We lost family and friends to that battle, and by being here, we'll honor their memory and defend the Moon Kingdom from the Kuraijin.
Love Interest: No one now. When she does allow herself to open up to someone on such an intimate level, it usually happens very quickly and she may pull away for fear of hurting herself or the other party. Her fear of abandonment is heightened when it comes to such intimate relationships, and her past experience that led to Aneiko's arrival doesn't exactly help. She's not opposed to the idea of love. she's just genuinely afraid of it not working out. It doesn't help that she hangs on to the memory of Aneiko's father, refusing to talk about him and hoping that she doesn't have to explain him to her daughter any time soon.
Born to parents whose lives revolved around social work, Mitsu spent most of her early years traveling from world to world as her parents sought to educate the "less fortunate souls of the galaxy." Precocious and outspoken, no question was off limits. While her parents were decidedly more interested in being missionaries than raising their only daughter, she never resented them for it. Traveling and being exposed to new cultures constantly was reward in itself. As a result of her cosmopolitan childhood, Mitsu is incredibly accepting of other races and cultures, and openly embraces the Tokyo of 2021 with its colorful and diverse population.
Not all of her travels were without incident. At the age of seven, a mission to a remote system was cut short when the ship's power core ruptured. Mitsu had been playing in a cargo bay at the time, and a burst conduit caused a plasma surge. Witnesses in the control room saw the surge hit the little girl full force, but she emerged with only minor burns. Analysis by the ship's doctor concluded that the young girl possessed Senshi-like powers, and required further testing in Crystal Tokyo's finest facilities.
Her parents, while respectful of their daughter's newfound abilities, were also fearful of their Senshi child. Insistent upon training, they petitioned to leave her in the care of those who would teach her to better control her powers. With a few signatures and formalities, Mitsu became a ward of the kingdom. Abandoned by her mother and father, Mitsu withdrew from everything but her studies and training, becoming obsessive to the point of neglecting food and sleep in order to train. Bizarre behavior for anyone, but Mitsu's age made it all the more worrisome. News of the young dedicated Senshi reached the Queen, who took it upon herself to guide the child's training.
Once she turned sixteen, Mitsu joined the military, concentrating on field tactics and deployment strategies. A valuable member of any team to which she was assigned, she played a critical role in several Kuraijin intelligence gathering missions. By the time she was nineteen, Mitsukai Tenmouno had reached the rank of field commander, planning and leading missions to try and force peace negotiations.
Military life was not without its darker secrets. During negotiaton meetings with the Kuraijin senion military leaders when the Portal was first opened, Mitsu developed a somewhat clandestine relationship with a senior military officer. As such things would go, she carried on in the hope that negotiations would fare well and they could live happily ever after. While a brilliant military strategist, the Senshi faltered in other areas and found herself pregnant. Going to the Queen herself, Mitsu expressed her desire to take a leave of absence to have the child, vowing not to abandon the baby as her parents had abandoned her. A year later, Mitsu was back as an instructor, teaching younger Senshi and Moon Kingdom elite as Aneiko slept soundly in the corner of the classroom. Once Aneiko was older, Mitsu trusted her daughter to Sa'dia's care as she made repeated visits to Earth's field command. At the last battle, Mitsu led the field command post in the implemenation of Hyourin's orders to the Lunar armies on Earth.
With the Portal closed but the threat of the Kuraijin still present, Sailor Pluto approached her and asked that she lead the new team of Moon Kingdom elite against the Kuraijin threat in 21st century Tokyo. With Aneiko almost six years old, Mistu accepted the task, vowing to serve the Queen who had never abandoned her.
Name: Sailor Adrasteia
Affiliation: Senshi
Symbol: The scales of justice resting upon a gold handled sword
Transformation: Mitsu brings her hands together, fingertips aligned and centered at her forehead. No words are said, no item is required. She closes her eyes briefly as a golden halo forms about her head, snowy wings emerging behind her. The wings wrap around her figure as a soft choral hum fills the air, ending abruptly in a loud triumphant yell. The wings burst in an eruption of gold light, and Adrasteia stands at the ready in her full uniform with full Senshi abilities.
Warrior Physical Description: Adrasteia's colors are predominantly white and gold. Her fuku has the standard Senshi collar and capped sleeves (gold stripe on white field, gold capped sleeves). The leotard covers a minimal amount of skin, with one U shaped cutout on the back that ends at her waist, and another cutout over her stomach from the bottom of her sternum to her hipbone. The usual pleated skirt is gold. Knee high boots with a slight heel are white with gold trim, and white fingerless gloves reach to her elbows. A simple gold circlet rests on her head, and gold hoops hang from her ears.
Heaven's Intercession: An ability available in both civilian and Senshi form, this allows Mitsu to absorb and redirect an attack as long as she is aware of the attack. She can do this up to five times in a twenty-four hour period, but is not immune to the effects of the attacks that she echoes (fire attacks may leave burns, water attacks leave her drenched, etc.). The echoed attack bears all characteristics of the original, and is encased in a golden light.
Heaven's Vengeance: A defensive attack, this may only be used in Senshi form. This allows Adrasteia to channel and redirect up to three midrange attacks she receives in a space of no more than five seconds. It takes her two seconds to "process" the new attack and aim, at which time she is completely vulnerable. The golden semblance of six foot angel wings emerges from her shoulders (purely for show, they can't do anything but make her look more imposing) and she throws both hands ahead of her to cast the combined attack. The maximum range of this attack is 4 meters, and one of the three attacks will be reduced in effectiveness by 30% (generally, this happens to the most powerful of the attacks she harbors). After using this attack, she may not use any other magic-based ability for two hours; otherwise, she will collapse and revert to civilian form. This may not be used with attacks that would cancel each other out, but she can combine an attack from an enemy and an ally to be redirected in battle.
Angelic Serenade:A sonic and light based attack, , this must be summoned in Senshi form. Adrasteia throws her right hand above her head and yells, "Angelic Serenade!" A two foot long broadsword with a golden hilt and pommel descends into her waiting hand. The blade alights with a white-gold glow as she closes her fingers about it, bringing it down such that the tip is aligned with the center of her circlet. Her irises take on a gold aura as the tip of the blade flares white. Both hands holding the sword, she swings it down violently in front of her, sending a 120 degree arc of light and pressure in the direction of the swing. The light eruption may blind anyone temporarily who stands within a two meter radius. The sonic wave reaches a maximum distance of five meters from the point of origin (mathematically, it coves an area of 26 square meters, and can only reach a maximum height of 1.5 meters) and deals the most damage within the first 2 meters. It disrupts electrical equipment, shatters glass, and can throw a target back a distance of 1 meter (if the target is not restrained and weighs less than 250 kg). Elemental shields offer little resistance; however, moving out of the 120 degree range will allow the target to avoid the attack. Adrasteia may use this attack once per hour and will be fatigued and severely lacking in agility for up to thirty minutes thereafter. If she uses this twice in a one hour period, she will collapse and revert to civilian form. In addition, she is unable to use any of her other magic-based attacks while she takes that hour to "recharge."
Weapons Proficiency:Adrasteia carries a modified martial arts weapon used by some of the more obscure tribal races of the Moon Kingdom. An eight-inch hooked adantium blade with decidedly deadly curves is connected to a ten foot long Kevlar-like woven rope ½ inch in diameter. The other end of the rope is attached to a 5 inch diameter, 3/8 inch thick adantium ring. Adantium does not conduct electricity and is a poor conductor of heat. The rope itself is fire resistant. She is very skilled with the blade in close combat, and the rope makes a useful tool for capture or strangulation. She keeps this weapon in her pocketspace, summoning it when necessary.
Fighting Style: Cautious, calculated, and generally defensive. Unless she or her team is in immediate danger, she will wait for her opponent to strike first. If forced to fight in close combat, she goes for blood. She doesn't seek to torture, merely to win quickly and effectively, and leave.
Weapons/Items: Aside from her adantium blade weapon, Mitsu keeps a medkit in her pocketspace, which can come in pretty handy.
Strengths: Mitsu's knack for strategy and planning has been instrumental in her assignment to this mission. She can calmly assess a combat situation and quickly decide where to place people. She has a talent for recognizing her teammates' strengths and utilizing them as well.
Weaknesses: Despite her overwhelming defensive capabilities, Mitsu does not fight or function well alone. She is somewhat stubborn and skeptical, which can prove problematic in social situations. Most importantly, Aneiko is her biggest "weakness." Mitsu's passion for her daughter could be a stumbling block in the future, especially if Aneiko were put in danger.
Slogan: (usually muttered under her breath) Heaven help us.
